Don’t miss your chance to raise your organisation’s profile, attract more business and forge your reputation as an employer of choice.
Nominate now for the Queensland Training Awards and help celebrate the everyday Queenslanders who have achieved success, best practice and innovation through vocational education and training. There are 14 award categories available, including Small Employer and Community Training Initiative of the Year.
In 2019, Astill’s Electrical Services in Kingaroy (pictured above) earned national recognition for their efforts working with local high school students and supporting their apprentices. They won the Medium Employer of the Year award, first in their Darling Downs South West region, then at the Queensland Training Awards State Gala Dinner and finally at the Australian Training Awards. This demonstrates that a family business in regional Queensland can be the best in Australia and we want to recognise and celebrate more stories like this.
Owners Mick and Amanda Astill said their business has been going for 10 years and being named a regional finalist in the Small Employer category in 2018 inspired them to keep improving and working hard, which helped them go even higher last year.
“It’s really nice to think about the lives we can change through training, the people who we can support and also for us; how much we’ve benefitted from training,” Mick said.
Nominations close on 31 March 2020.
