Buy Local has two sides!

Help needed from ‘both sides’…

While it’s important to buy local, it’s equally important for Chambers to urge small businesses to do the right thing – especially when it comes to treating employees fairly when it comes to salaries and salary support.
Businesses are not doing other businesses any favours (or is it helpful to industry bodies) in the advocacy space when there are breaches of the fundamentals such as pay and associated matters. Impacts credibility across the board.

Workforce Planning Connect – CCIQ and Jobs Queensland

Working collaboratively, CCIQ and Jobs Queensland, Workforce Planning Connect is a range of easy-to-use free resources to help SMEs to understand, build and grow their workforce.

As we navigate through this period of immense change, whether it’s positive or negative for SMEs, the Workforce Planning Connect resources can provide a guiding tool to respond to workforce needs now and into the future.

Through CCIQ and the CCIQ Regional Stakeholder Managers, we are raising awareness of the Workforce Planning Connect resources with Chambers and businesses across Queensland. We are interested to explore opportunities with Chambers in the coming months.

SafeTicket – another innovative idea for Chambers (and anyone hosting an event) from the BJCC President Nathan Schokker

Born & bred right here in Qld, SafeTicket picks up where SafeVisit left off in providing a local solution for businesses and chambers big & small in handling their digital ticketing needs. Data kept onshore in Australia and not sold along (no spamming from us), we’re confident we can make your event shine and save you a few bucks along the way. SafeTicket is also part owned by the Bris Jnr Chamber and is committed to driving local employment and supporting fellow chambers and local businesses alike.

To support the chamber network, SafeTicket happily extends special discounted ticket fees as well as complimentary graphic design to make your events really shine through. We’re also happy to offer exclusive chamber members ticket fees so that SafeTicket can become a part of a membership offering to your current and prospective chamber members.

Some words from the BJCC President, Nathan Schokker…

– whilst in the meeting I tried to find everyone on the call on LinkedIn. Found most and of those I found the vast majority didn’t list their respective chamber on their profile anywhere. Given LinkedIn is the social media home to business and industry, this is where chambers should be putting some sort of focus. To lift from BJCC experience, for a long time LinkedIn has been and will continue to be our biggest social media channel and source of engagement with current and prospective members alike. If chambers are hunting for members and advocacy insight, LinkedIn is waiting for them

– a few chambers mentioned ‘young’ chambers on the call. Happy to have my details shared actively to provide insights on what we’ve done and what we’re going to be doing into the future. There’s heaps of pitfalls with this quest and I’ve seen a few chambers repeat bad behaviour with creating and driving these ‘young’ chambers so I’d like to be able to help where I can.
