Kingaroy Transformation Project
The award-winning Kingaroy Transformation Project certainly has gained some airtime in the media. The planning for this project wasn’t just an overnight dream. From the time the first plan was released, the KCCI were providing a powerful platform for community feedback. Twice the chamber held community feedback sessions, once after the first design concept, then again after the second. The feedback from both sessions was generously taken into account and the final concept delivered. It is our belief that this set the benchmark for community consultation on the project. The design team and Council, continued to consult with the Kingaroy businesses right up until the construction of the project commenced.
The KCCI continuously met with the project team over the 2-year build delivering concerns over the build and advocating for local supply of goods and services for the project. This was done as a volunteer organisation before there were staff employed.
The chamber went on the advocate for the building of the George Street, off-street Carpark which has given easy access for CBD Business Staff Parking. This has complimented the already established Alford Street off-street Parking.
