A ham-packed, 3-day program of events for the whole family!
Punters can anticipate a ‘pig day out’ at Kingaroy BaconFest!
The three-day sizzling food festival in Queensland’s beautiful South Burnett celebrates the versatility of bacon and puts Australian pork on centre stage.
Discover the joy of bacon fries and bacon ice cream at a two-day food market featuring specialist food trucks, attend a bacon-eating competition, or learn from the best in the business at cooking demonstrations and masterclasses.
Bacon lovers with a flair for fashion may want to enter a BaconFest pinup pageant or Beard of BaconFest contest conducted by popular pinup icon Bettie Butcher. There’s even a Rasher’s Rush cycling and running event along the South Burnett Rail Trail and special activities for little piglets with a corner of the festival devoted to kids.
The crackling on the cake will be a 24 hour Australasian Barbecue Alliance sanctioned SunPork Smoke-off competition. Ticketed events not to be missed include ‘Wine and Swine’ on Friday night, showcasing local wine and produce, and a ‘Long Table Breakfast’ on Sunday morning in Kingaroy’s Central Business District.
Celebrity Chefs
At Kingaroy BaconFest celebrity chefs put on a show and cook up a storm! Alastair McLeod and his cooking comrade, Miguel Maestre, will be HERE at Kingaroy BaconFest, cooking over the weekend in Ready, Steady, BACON at the TAFE Queensland stage!
Ready Steady Bacon!
Celebrity Chef Alastair McLeod and friends will cook up a storm in the Kingaroy Town Hall on Saturday from 12.30pm and Sunday from noon!

Wine & Swine Evening
This is a dinner party like no other and officially opens Kingaroy BaconFest on the Friday night. Enjoy delicious tapas-style food, a pig on the spit served five ways and two choices of dessert. To complete the celebration, South Burnett band ‘Ryza’ and their infectious rhythms will keep your trotters tapping all night.
Long Table Breakfast at the Whipbird
A celebration of locally-grown foods prepared by local culinary artists Zarly and Devon. This delicious hand-grown, prepared and cooked breakfast experience in the old chapel nestled amongst the Gum Trees will sell out quickly!
Rasher's Rush
The Rasher’s Rush cycling and running event takes place along the popular South Burnett Rail Trail, Queensland’s longest sealed rail trail, and is coordinated by the Wondai Country Running Festival and Kingaroy Nutters. Whether you fancy a 4km walk/run, a 10km run or a 20-30km ride, this is the perfect opportunity to discover the South Burnett a little more!
